About Randall Wilson...
My first son Robin arrived as I began this company. I wanted the name to reflect the sense of family I intended to foster at Wilson and Sons, and the growth of my new family at home. The name proved truly prophetic for I now have three sons.
I started remodeling houses in the East bay in the late 70's. My pursuit of finer skills eventually led me, in 1988, to the College of the Redwoods Fine Woodworking program. After completing two years of full time furniture education, I created a successful business combining my furniture skills with my years of practical construction expertise, work ethic, and general sense of loving what I do for a living.
I continue to hire College of the Redwoods students. This enables me to maintain a high quality level and the sense of teamwork through a like minded approach. Currently on my crew are Jason Hernandez and Evan Erickson. Jason is from the Northwest, with a background in theater set design and construction, cabinetwork and furniture prototype fabrication. Jason has been with me for three years. Evan is from the Central Valley, with prior experience in trim carpentry and cabinet installation. He has been with me one year.
Each year, everyone in the shop takes a paid sabbatical for a week or so, to do a piece of their own design. I feel that this maintains a continued connection to what draws us to this work. You may see some of the pieces done during sabbatical on this site.
We focus on the high-end residential cabinet, and one-of-a-kind furniture market. We typically work for general contractors, interior designers, and individuals. Our greatest asset is integrity; integrity of our craftsmanship and service. I encourage you to contact us for referrals from previous clients. Look through our portfolio, see the type of work we do, and let it provide inspiration for a piece specific to your needs and wants. We will execute an existing design or provide design services. Thank you for visiting and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
Randall Wilson
